He is also with a MP batallion. You are welcome to email me at gmartin@hot.rr.com if you would like to share information. As I said in a previous post, I am extremely blessed since he calls me every day and on most days twice a day. In reading other posts, many are not as fortunate as I am. But I pray for the safety and safe return of all the soldiers and pray for strength for those they left behind.

I can't believe the lot of you... we have this thing called OpSec (operational security) and at the end of the day it's about keeping soldiers alive. You yanks might rememmber all the loose lips sink ships jargon, then again maybe not, you all have your ADD don't you? Quit talking about who is where and where your from. I mean why not just invite these terrorists from all over the world (they can read english) to your house to kill you. Oh yes, finally I wish to add, if you are going to blather on, please use spell check, or a dictionary, as your ignorance shines trhough the dank walls of your trailer park.
@PersianPride:YOU shoud be ashamed
You prefer the terrorist mullahs?? Are you stupid? Nothing and NOBODY in the world is worse than the murderous and savage Mullahs!my father, a great and popular doctor in Teheran, has been killed by Khomeinis Regime, because he was a mojahed who pleaded for a free Iran, where men and women are treated respectfully! My father was tortured in the black wholes of ewin (prison in teheran - hell on earth-->I guess you know!) to death, having no arms, no ears and no nose at the end of his life! His tongue was also cut out, because he refused to speak out any information(I know this is disguisting to read but it is the truth!)How would you feel, if this happend to YOUR father??? Please THINK about this, before writing such a nonsense without any background! I am crying every night for my wonderful and freedom-loving father and his 120 000 brothers and sisters who have gone through the same hell!I also cry for my uncle, who was hang up at the age of 17, because he was selling newspapers against mullahs! So how can you even dare prefering these murderers, who trample on human rigths and act like animals??? Have you been blind or dumb during the last 26 years, where mullahs have terrorized the whole world, especially their biggest victims - the mojaheddin?? You say "I have no love for the mullahs" so if you said this sentence loudly in Iran, Mullahs would take YOU to prison and sentenced you to death - I guess you wouldnt prefer them anymore THEN. Sorry for beeing so sarcastic, but your comment has really annoyed me! And you are WRONG my dear:Mujahedin HAVE and always WILL HAVE millions of supporters not only in Iran but supperters all over the world (as this side also indicates!) Supporters of Love, freedom and Democracy for Iran! When I participate in demonstrations agains the mullahs I meet ten thousands of them everytime! Anyway, I am proud of my mother and my uncles, who are still resisting at the camp ashraf with thousands of other heros and heroines. they are defending the blood and the real wish of the victims of the mullah regime for freedom and democracy in a peaceful IRAN!I love them and admire them for their endless big heart and courage and I am sure that one day I can celebrate together with them DEMOCRACY in a peaceful Iran without Mullahs and murderers, without misery and poverty but in an Iran full of LOVE and JOY! I think this is the dream of every mojahed, of every supporter of mujahed and of every Iranian who loves his home country and this dream WILL come true thanks to the great staying power of our heros in Ashraf! ASHRAF-IRAN, IRAN-ASRAF!!!! 24 years old girl from GERMANY "Es lebe die Freiheit und die Gerechtigkeit!!!"
I'm an Iranian living in Australia and I think you should all be ashamed of yourselfs your nothing more then traitors and no iranians support you.
I have no love for the mullahs but I would rather have them stay in power then see any of you gain any sort of power. You who betrayed your country to co-operate with Saddam Hussien.
Anyway I thought all of you were imprisoned by the US troops anyway.
I just found this site, explains very well what goes on in Ashraf. This DOES NOT include what soldiers see, just explains what the MEK are like and how brain-washed this group is. So if you are getting ready to go to Ashraf, know someone at Ashraf, were at Ashraf (as a soldier, Iranian, or someone affiliated with either of the two), I think this explains very well what these people are like.

That means they are breaking Operational Security (OPSEC) which is a serious offense. Don't talk about the place to anybody, because they weren't allowed to talk about it with you. The place isn't a secret. What is a secret is the identity of the servicemembers who are there.
To answer all of your questions in the many posts listed in this message board. Search in Google or Yahoo, using the many keywords offered in these threads. That will hold you over for a while, allowing people to stop breaking OPSEC.
I want to give a shout out from Philadelphia to by buddy over there at camp A. Gee I wish I could pet your shaved head again some time real soon! I miss you, your family miss you, and I will buy each of you a nice big greasy Philly cheesestake from Liberty Place/Pats Steaks as soon as you get home! Guess who? Hey boys and girls, get back safe, we miss you and love you and we are keeping the porch light on so come on home when you can! Love Ms. Siamese Cat
I just want to say to all the American's there, keep your heads down on the escourts and don't become complacent. People are nice to you when they want something. As for all the politics I could care less all I know is our boys and girls are risking there necks to take these people into Baghdad on a daily basis to go shopping for supplies. I know I have been there and done that and even though they offer to buy you a REALLY GOOD LUNCH IT'S NOT WORTH IT. You soldiers take care over there and if you get the chance see there "martyr" museum and then make up your own mind weather they are terrorists or not.
The Mujahideen-e Khalq (also the NLA, MKO and the NCRI, its political front) is not interested in anti-US terrorism and is currently promoting a pro-US line to maintain its support in the US Congress. It has also provided the US with important intelligence on Iran's nuclear programme.
The MEK is still listed as an FTO, but has not been disbanded by the Coalition. It was involved in the brutal repression of the Shia and Kurdish uprisings of 1991. In truth, the Bush administration is divided on what it wants to do with the MEK. It has not disbanded the MEK, has allowed it to keep its small arms, declared MEK militants to be protected under the Fourth Geneva Convention and has allowed MEK fronts to engage in fund-raising activities in the US. But the Iraq Survey Report found that the MEK was involved in oil smuggling on behalf of Saddam Hussein, netting US$11.2 million in profits from 27 million barrels of oil. The State Department has also claimed that 40 of the MEK militants held at Camp Ashraf are guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity and up to six could be sent to the US for prosecution on terrorist-related offences, which have not yet been detailed.
Basically, there is a conflict between the Defence Department - which wants to use the MEK as a weapon against Iran - and the State Department, the Iraqi administration and the rest of the world, which views the MEK as a terrorist organisation.
My dad has been at Camp Ashraf for about three weeks. He has been able to call very often. He says that there is no bombing over ther so I dont have to worry about him getting hurt. So if you have a loved one please dont worry yourself to death while they are gone because i assure you that they will be perfectly fine while they are at Camp Ashraf. May God Bless You All!
Camp Ashraf is just a stinking pit in the middle of a much bigger dump. It is generally safer in the camp because it is isolated and the MEK are trying to seduce the American government into their latest propaganda. It's quite the miracle that they became democratic instead of Marxist when we got there. Once a terrorist, always a terrorist. I believe their only beef with the mullah's, whom they helped into power, is that they were cut out of the power grab. All of the MEK are not there willingly. The 12 foot high outer fence of the camp has concertina wire on the inside and the barb wire faces inward. That wire was there when the US got there. The US has now set up a facility inside the camp for MEK defectors and it is full. US forces are risking their lives escorting the MEK to Baghdad almost daily for "provisions". When I was there this included anything from diesel fuel to Mustafa needing some new shoes. The road goes through one of the most dangerous areas in Iraq, near Baqubah.
I say send them back to Iran.
I want to know what the US or British soldiers that were (or are) at Ashraf City (or Camp Ashraf) think about the iranian freedom lovers that are there
Hi,
I am so glad to find this discussion group.
I just want to say my mother is a resident of Camp Ashraf. She joined NLA to fight against the Iranian regime. All she wants is democracy for Iran. As a US citizen, I am glad our troops have met these freedom fighters...I hope to keep in touch with some of them...ther is a website of relatives of camp ashraf residents www.usccar.org
Now with the new Iraqi government and less influence by the Iranian regime, I know both residents and our troops continue to be safe in camp Ashraf.
I was one of the first Americans in Camp Ashraf in the begining of the War. I agree NLA have lots of propaganda to promote however we were treated very well. The majority of the people I interacted with had only one thing on there minds and that was to oust the current Iranian regime...which may not be such a bad thing.
To all of you: Camp ashraf residents are the nicest people on earth, and my dad is the coolest dad ever. The city of ashraf is an amazing and unbelievable place in the midst of turmoil and crisis in that region.thank god the people in ashraf are good and safe and help in the stability in that region.
for all of you who have relatives, don't worry at all.
To all of you who have relatives stationed in the city of Ashraf, I just wanted all of you to know that you have nothing to worry about because Ashraf is probably the safest area in the whole region. And the people in Camp Ashraf are amazing. I'm sure when you relatives return they will tell you about the amazing people they met in Camp Ashraf and their dedication to freeing Iran
Although I am no longer there with you, please keep in mind if I can find this so can others. Wait until you get home to talk about issues I know you have been told to keep to yourself. Do not put yourself or the rest of the soldiers at Asharf at risk by trying to impress people. The NLA does not concern anyone and do not engage in conversations with people, for all you know you are talking to the mullahs.
My brother was in War Horse but is now in Ashraf. He likes it their much better than War Horse, he said that they dont even make them wear body armor. He can communicate freely via. phone or internet.
I don't hear from him much; I read that the media is banned from there...how limited is electronic communication for soldiers? What are the living conditions like? Thanks...

City in central Iraq with 280,000 inhabitants (2002 estimate), on the Diyala River, a northeastern tributary to the Tigris river. The name comes from the Aramaic Baya 'quba, meaning “Jacob's house.†Ba'quba is the regional centre of a region of agricultural produce and livestock. Ba'quba has for centuries been famous for its dates and fruit orchards. In ancient times, it was an important stop on the trading route between Baghdad and Khorasan, carrying silk and spices. Ba'quba's history go back at least 2,000 years of continuous inhabitation.

Hello, My name is Jonathan and I spent the last 9 months in Camp Warhorse. I am not going to lie, it is the worst place on earth. Your family and friends there won't ever tell you the truth because of fear of scaring you. I will. We constantly had ROCKETS fired onto the base. We had very large carbombs at the gates. Some were so bad, that we actually had to pick up body parts over 80 meters away. Please pray for the people there. It is a very bad place. There is little or no outside communication opprotunities. They need all of your prayers. It is literally "Hell on Earth". P.S., we never called it BaQubah, we called it BaQuboom!!

His name is Jonathan Seeley, and if there are any family members of his here, I'd like them to know that we're sending him letters and foodstuffs and such.

Suzanne,
I volunteer with a tremdnous organiztion named Adopt-a-platoon (http://www.adoptaplatoon.org). AAP is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization managed nationwide by volunteer mothers to ensure that deployed United States Service members in all branches of the military are not forgotten by providing needed mail support and to promote patriotism in our schools and communities. To provide a better deployment quality of life, lift morale, and assist military families, the AAP created projects that meet the need of military requests, established special projects for holidays, and assigns individual morale lifting mail support to service members of all branches of the U.S. military serving their Nation around the world.
They are an amazing organization. You can go to thier web site, and then click on "Forum" at the top of the page to join the forum community there and you'll find a tremendous amount of support for yourself and your spouse at your fingertips.
You can also sign your husband, or even his entire unit up with the program to receive support from home during his deployment.
All the best,
Angel

If you aren't able to get any help from his local unit then try this number. 800-443-2985.
You will get a chaplain in Washington, D.C. and he will contact your husbands' unit and you should receive a call from the support group in your area.
Believe me, I've tried everything and this was the best phone call I've made!

I was there with 1-67 AR 4 ID we took over that camp it is called scunion because our battalion comander said that the motarmen who took over the camp brought scunion. It was horrible nasty place and attacks were almost every night sometimes 2or3 a night but it calmed down a lot when the guys from Germany came to relieve us. Tell your sons and daughters hello from the Death Dealers 1-67 AR tell them they are doing a awesome job! SPC Taylor 1-67 AR 4ID

Thanks,

My fiance was stationed there at Vilseck but he just went
to Iraq. He is a part of 2/63 AR BN. I would like
to post this poem for him. I love him and miss him so
much and I can't wait until his return so we can get married!
My American Soldier
My American Soldier wears bdu’s, combat boots, and carries an M-16 just like any
other soldier. He fights for my freedom as well as for yours. He carries out
orders and does what he’s told, whether he likes it or not. He writes home and
calls as often as he can. He tells me, “Don’t worry about me, I’m gonna be
alright. We just have to get through one more night." My American soldier is not
like yours, mine is a one of a kind. His smile can light the darkest cavern on a
moonless night. His heart can warm even the coldest igloo in Alaska. His eyes
gleam with the power of a trillion stars. He spends countless nights alone, on
the dry rocky soil. Watching, and waiting, protecting our nation from those who
wish to destroy us. My American soldier can stop the ocean’s breath so that we
may sleep peacefully. He can wipe my tears away from half way across the world.
He speaks to me through songs, reassures me through each sunrise, loves me with the strength of a million warriors. My soldier is a guide, a protector, a
savior, a warrior, a neighbor, a leader, a battle buddy, a friend. My soldier’s
my companion, my soul mate, my heart, my lover, my angel, the very breath that I
breathe. He’s a father, a husband, a hero, a role model, a genuine dream come
true. My American soldier sacrifices his time with his beautiful family so that
you and I may live as we wish. He defends our right to believe in our God, and
to worship him as we choose. My American soldier is being celebrated by me, his
fiancee', for all that he does for every American. I will love him always and
forever, to the moon and back, n around n around each star, for all of the days
of my life. My American soldier is my blessing, my gift, from my generous God.
My American soldier is SGT. Williams.

I was there in Camp Scunion from 2003 to 2004. I'm sure they have really improved the conditions for living. But you know it is alot safer ther that across the road. Smaller and built like a castle. Brick wall and a moat to the west side. We didn't have anyone injured on the camp while I was there, unless they hurt themselves playing around....
Hi! This is a great website that I have just found. My brother is with the 3rd Infantry (Fort Benning) 2-69 AR and he has been at FOB Scunion since January. We were recently told not to send him mail for awhile because he is relocating. Does anyone have any information regarding this? I hope that he is going to a relativly safe place. Please feel free to email me at Angelica2004@mchsi.com...I would love to talk to anyone with loved ones in Iraq!
My boyfriend is at Scunion, and he is 3rd id, 2/69. He is doing pretty good. I here from him almost every other day, and just the other day we talked for over 3 hours! Just tell your hubbies or sons to call whenever. My bf wakes me up at 3am but it's so worth it to know he is safe! I hope all is well with everyone else. He tells me this is a mostly quiet area, there has been no injuries or casualties. And only one with the previous group of troops and that was from friendly fire. So I think we can all keep high hopes~
My son is with the 2-69 AR "A" Company. I haven't heard much from him, just a note saying he was OK.
His wife has heard from him a few times and he tells he the same. Not sure what the conditions are like there, but trying to find out.

I've read a lot of recent messages that say that some of you have loved ones who are getting ready to leave Kuwait to go to Scunion. Are any of them 3rd/3rd? Possibly maybe with 2-69 even. Responses would be great!
Why our loved ones are still going to iraq i don't no? My boyfriend sgt Norman Bogdan will be leaving kuwait soon to go to scunion. I hope he is safe i love him always and forever and am greatly looking forward to him coming home!!!
I love you Norm!!!
hi my daughter just informed me she is going to camp scunion and not warhorse, are the conditions better? I hope so, I will write to anyone to talk, I joined the support group for warhorse, can we still belong if the camp has changed? I've met alot of people and email them regularly it really helps. god bless our troops and their families
hey,
scunion was hell when we got here. but its definatly better now, although at the moment there are only two females on the fob. we're a tank battalion. if you have any questions i'd be more then willing to help, email me or catch me on msn messenger w/ joekeenan805@hotmail.com
IT"S HOT
Iraq Is hot and so am I,
sweat is dripping, from around my eye.
The sun is high, the sky is blue,
There's really nothing I can do.
Sun block smeared, around my face,
my boots, sweat seeping to the lace.
Dirt on my hands, and in my clothes,
sunburn burns across my nose.
Weapons hot, there hard to hold,
this constant heat is getting old.
I dream of rain, or snow someday,
its high in doubt, but still I pray.

I hope that all of your sons come home safely, soundly and soon. My husband is there, a part of the 82nd and I look forward to his homecoming day!!! All of our soldiers are in mine and my children's prayers everyday.

i hope you hear from him soon. my boyfriend just left home to go back from r&r. i havent heard from him though since the bombing. i hope he is alright. but if just left this morning it will be a while. my boyfriend had to go to kuwait then germany then take a flight from germany to the states. that is usually the way they go. so i wouldnt worry until it gets later tonight. i am sure he is just delayed or something.
i am also worried about my son he was supposed to have left ba ba qubah this morning to fly home for r & r but i haven't heard anything from him i will pray that we get word soon from our loved ones teresa

My brother is Idaho National Guard, with the 82nd as well for the time being. I talked to him recently and he says they are keeping busy but things are fine. If I get to talk to him again, I will pass on the message for Sgt. Humphreys.
Take care... I'm praying for all of the Idaho guys, not just my brother!
My son is there with the 82nd. I will ask him to look up your husband when I talk to him next. He has been out of the camp for about a week now. Just got back on Christmas Day.
Hi there,
My son Spc. Ian Turner is at Warhorse too. But the 116th is pretty spread out. Most of them went to Kirkuk but about 1600 of them were sent to different fob's. My friend Sgt Lamott ended up at fob Scunion in Balad. I will tell Ian to watch out for your son, but I suspect they already know each other, being in the same company.
Take care,

I've been shipping non-perishables and hygiene items for more than a year. The Post Office is the only way you can ship. They've just come out with priority boxes that are a flat $7.70 regardless of weight, which is a great price! I ship cans of tuna fish and fruit and anything else that's heavy in them. Otherwise a typical box is around $15 to mail.

Ladies and Gentlemen
Please do not discuss units or activities or full names of individuals on this site due to the fact that it may affect the mission or put individuals and their families back home in danger. Thank you.

Please explain more - I would not do that but I want to know why. I can see the names issues - even for families outside of the war zones. And locations of camps is known - look at CNN or this web site - there are maps.
A great explaination on OpSec was recently posted on the Stryker Brigade's blog. The URL to the full reponse is: http://www.strykernews.com/archives/2004/10/02/opsec_parable.html
Just to summerise some of the sailant points though, If you are reading this, than ANYONE can be reading this.
And while the general locations of our bases and even general knowledge of troop deployments are available to anyone with an internet connection, specific information is not made readily available. The more deatails which can be garnered through the internet gives the bad guys much more research material.
A great rule of thumb would be, "Do I want the bad guys to know....." and ask yourself that question every time before you hit submit. If the answer is "YES" then delete or re-word. If the answer is no, then click "Submit".
Regards,
Angel
ok, this site is confusing the hell out of me but i think im on the right bit now. For the person looking for Glenn Misters, he took his R&R shortly after my husband did...so around the 13th. He must still be here in Bamberg, because they get 15 days total. I am sorry you are not hearing from him. ~Mrs. Lanners jonilanners@hotmail.com

There is not much to tell no more, so with respect, if you and Glenn are happily married, then it is not important why i was trying to get in touch with him last year when he had is R&R. Time has went by and I dont want to be bothered with the subject Glenn Misters any more..All i can say is that we did not meet in person, so you have none to worry about..but i sure did not know about the fact that he is married..he sure didnt mention it in almost 3 months either...no offence, but your husband is a good deceiver and I had to find out by the CSM that he is married...best wishes

I want u to come home to me safe and sound. we have our life our family our future ahead of us. nothing will come between the love we have for one another. I pray every night that u will call me or I will hear from u in some way just so I know that you are ok. you are the air that I breathe. the beat in my heart that keeps my pumping. you are my everything and I love you so much. without you my whole would fall no it would crash and burn. I believe that we are drawn together through electricity and ever time we touch we get shocked with how much our love has grown over time. we are as one. one heartbeat one person. we fixed together as a puzzle piece. be safe and make it home to me please baby I love u with all my heart and soul.

Dear Glenn,
Hi this is Amy, Rhonda's sister. I'm writing to you, because I feel that it is time that we get to know each other. You are my sisters husband, So you are my family. You're also my childrens uncle. I'm glad that you and Rhonda are working everything out in your marriage. Rhonda had mentioned that you will have some time off soon. I was woundering if it would be possible if the two of you, would be able to stop here for a couple days. I know that Rhonda would love to see the kids, as they also would be glad to see her, since you guys will be staying in Germany, and who knows when we will see her again. Also if you come Rhonda said you like Italian food, and I can cook it better than my grandma, so i 'll make a nice dinner. I really hope you write me back. We really need to get to know each other. I'm close with my whole family even my husbands family i am very close with, and i can't think of any reason why it should be different with us. I've already have talked to your grandma Judy, and she is one of the sweetest people i have ever spoken to. Also i believe i have spoken to your mother kim before and she sounds just as nice as your grandma.I want you to know also I NEVER hated you. The only thing I ever said was I didn't like the things that you both were doing. I pray that you both have a long and happy marriage like my husband and I. Plus its time to that I get some neicess or nephews. Rhonda is my baby sister so I'm pertective over her, exspecially since we don't have a mother.Rhonda gets angry because I act more like a mother than a sister, but I can't help it, I'm sorry if sometimes I might sound like a bitch or just come off strong. Don't take it the wrong way, thats just me. I have a bad habbit of say exactly what is on my mind not thinking of the after effect. I really hope that we get to know each other. If theres ever anything I can do if you ever need to talk or need help with something, if I can help i'd do it in a heart beat. you can e-mail me at BigMouth5@optonline.net
I hope you do. Take care and God Bless my prayers are always

hey all, I just returned from warhorse, after a year in country and 10 months there at warhorse. let me be the first to tell you that aside from the obvious dangers, WH is prob the best FOB to be stationed at. Everything is within walking distance. KBR has provided an OUTSTANDING chow hall, the PX is improving daily, and there is drop off laundry with 1 day turnaround that comes back smelling as good as home. my support remains at warhorse with all the soldiers that are now stationed there.

Hi,
My fiance is with a small detachment of the 116th BCT (ID guard) at Camp Normandy, but I rarely hear from him, and when I do he won't tell me any details (because of security) about where it is, what it's like, etc. Since I'm not officially family, I'm kind of in the dark about most everything, and this is my first "military experience". I welcome ANY info about it, especially if anyone knows what they DO there!
God bless all our troops!!

I have a son there in Camp Normandy, David G. Smith. What I say not only comes from my feelings, but also from all the many many people I speak to about what you men and women are doing in Iraq. God Bless all of you. With the holidays coming, it will be tough for you and your families, there isn't a moment that goes by that every soldier is thought of and wondering what you are going through. Thank you for your service..

They're not giving my husband R&R either b/c he's "in the hole" on his leave...maybe that's why your BF can't take it...Don't jump the gun and think he's lying...that "guests" comment was uncalled for.
I am part of 2-63 AR. Suzy everyone is getting the chance for R&R. Your B/F must not have wanted to go on R&R. I hope that this helps you. But I will tell you, everyone here in 2-63 is getting the chance to go, no one will be denied.
I don't understand, He was supposed to come home in may and he will not be allowed to come home until our baby is born in Sept. How can I get him around this. They told him that he has 6 days in Dubai and they have cut that short... What is happening?

I am an Army wife and a former intelligence soldier. I understand the want to find out information about your loved ones, I will help if I can. However, I must stress to you all not to put classified information on any site. Especially any kind of travel information, dates, destinations, times. Be careful with the information you have. It may not seem that important but trust me it is. If you have any questions please ask all of our loved ones are at risk.
Kim
If anyone is with the Airforce and knows my son Michael Olbrecht , please have him email home, Togethersunny12@aol.com.
Thank You!
God Bless all our children who are serving in the Arm Forces in Iraq. Bring our babies home safely !
I am trying to find out anything I can about baqubah because my husband is set to be there around feb,8th.they flew out last night and I would like to know what to expect because I haven't heard but a few things on the news about baqubah. If anyone reads this I would really appreciate any information you have or tell me where to look because I can't seem to wrap my head around anything but the sound of his plane leaving last night.Thank you Tammy
I was wondering if anyone knew Spec. D. Licon with the 82nd EN BN at FOB GABE..If there is anyone out there that does, please tell him you saw a note for him under a rose bush and it read that he was very missed and loved by Lynette.
He will understand what you are talking about and it will brighten his day!
Our son, Spc. Daniel Preston, is with the 82d En. Bn, Bravo Co., 3d plattoon. They've been seeing a lot of action lately. We long for their exit from Iraq. He says they've been told that they will be extended until March, although the FRG liaison in Bamburg says otherwise.
Anybody have word to this effect?
haven't heard from my husband in a few weeks just wondering what's going on over there If anybody knows him write me on here or at amberjasonskyler@hotmail.com
Hello all. My name is PFC Neil Adams. I am a soldier in HHB 1-6 FA @ FOB GABE if any body has any questions about the were about abou their sons just let me know and I'll do everything to find out about them. I know what it is like to be missed cause my father misses me and wants me to home home as well.
hey i am a soldier in 3plt c btry we are one of the best platoons out here right now. we are fa by training kicking in doors for fun. if you wanna email me go ahead. pvtwaggs@aol is my email. see everyone in germany soon. later
To all on this board. I'm glad to see somehting like this. I was a part of the force that took Baqubah back in the first wave, and infact FOB Gabe is named after my former Platoon SGT. Originally called camp Boom for all the EOD we did there. Baqubah is a deadly town. But it can also be a great place. Remind your troups that not everyone is an enemy. Some of the locals saved my life more than once, and if you give them respect they'll respect you. But of cource, it's hard to trust anyone there. Good luck to you all and may your loved ones be returned safely, soon. ~J
I'm praying just like all proud parents of these brave soldiers. Spec. Jeremy Cunningham is there facing attack just this weekend. We were out of town and arrived home to hear his platoon was bombed and shot with small arms. He says they are all okay. The Iraqi's were telling their sons to shoot at ours. I feel helpless knowing they are trying to kill my baby boy. He has become used to this fear and only thinks of staying alive. I hate what it is doing to him, but he has done a great job of hanging tough. I wish it were more like it was when I was a Marine. We went to work everyday, not worried about dying. We were lucky they were just helping us get on with life and become responsible adults. Our boys are responsilbe and have turned into men, lets all pray they are able to get on with their lives soon. God Bless our children.
My son has been in Baqubah since March of this year. He is at Camp Gabe. He is with the 1-6th, C Btry. He was able to come home for R&R last month and it was the most precious 15 days we ever spent with him. Let's all just keep praying that they all make it back safely to Bamberg next year to their wifes, children, parents, and friends. GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS!
Our son is in B Btry 1/6 FA / Operation Iraqi Freedom (FOB GABE) and has been in Iraq since March 2004. It is very humbling to connect with so many other relatives who have loved ones there. We correspond with our boy via e-mail and his personal web log. We feel very fortunate to be able to communicate as often as we do (althoug hearing his voice would be awesome). We can't even imagine what it was like for loved ones during earlier wars.
Stay strong!
Jim & Pat
How good to find this site! My 20 year old, Dale Rubanick, is a PFC in HHB 1-6 FA. He is a Humvee mechanic but recently switched over to full time Guard Force. I speak to him weekly, but he's my baby, so you know that's not enough. God willing, he will be home on leave (Central Florida) this Friday! Although my husband and I have 47 years of military service (mostly Army) between us, neither of us was ever in combat and so this is all terribly ironic for us. Thanks for listening!
He is with C Btry 1-6 FA at Camp Gabe, I have not heard much from him over the past two weeks. He has been there for the longest 5 1/2 months of my life!
Hello, my son is also on Baqubah, stationed at a police station. We talk once a week but I still worry like crazy especially 2 weeks ago when the news showed a Baqubah police station that was blown up. After 24 miserable hours, my son called and told me it wasn't his. I want every soldier to come home safe and soon. I live in the Virgen Islands far away from my family so its great to hear about other families.
My son is at FOB Gabe in Baqubah. His little brother is organizing penpals for the 201st FSB there and at FOB Danger. Up until this last 2 weeks we talked almost daily. They have been really "busy" the last 2 weeks!
just wanted to say that we do need to keep the prayers coming, i myself have a son in camp warhorse he has been there for a few months now his initials are f.l we are all praying for all of the men and women that are in iraq and hope that they all get to come home soon. and for those of you that do not have any support the only thing that i can say is that you start your own support group if you'd like i am willing to be there for you my husband is a gulf war vet so i know what alot of you are going through, my e-mail is londono_mamaof5@yahoo.com i would be more than happy to be your shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen keep in touch.

Man it really sounds like Camp Warhorse has changed since I was last there. I was stationed with the 649th MP in the main police station (no need to edit this, it was on international news) inside Ba'Qubah. We staged for many of our raids at Camp Warhorse and picked up our supplies from there. We were fortunate in that we didn't have to live in the dustbowl that was Warhorse at the tiem. I am glad to see that my fellow troops are finally being taken care of there. I saw Camp Warhorse last on November 22, 2003. I look back on my time there in Ba'Qubah, and I am prout to have had the oportunity to serve with such fine soldiers, Iraqi police officers, and Iraqi translators. Ba'Qubah is a dangerous city but so full of potential.
Remember to keep writing to your soldier. Even if you have instant messaging capabilites, a letter fits in a pocket and means so much. In the police station we paid out of pocket to have satelite internet services from a company in England. So we were able to use webcams and messaging frequently, but a letter was still far more valuable. It is a tangible reminder. I could smell my wifes perfume on each letter. That scent meant more to me than an hour of converstion on the computer.
I will pray for your children/husbands/wives and beg God to wrap the same blanket of protection around them as he did around my unit and I. God bless you all. If you have any questions about the area please let me know. My info is now a year old but my still be helpfull.

My son is in F troop, 4th Cav stationed in Baqubah. My son, like yours left as a 19 year old soldier and has matured into a solid soldier who has matured way beyond his years. I did not put much stock in prayer chains until these last few months. My son has told us of many near misses and I firmly believe that they are misses because of this prayer chain. Keep it going for your soldier and all the others. There is not a day that goes by that these soldiers are not in our thoughts.

I have a son currently at camp Warhorse. He has been there since Feb. of this year.(sent from Vilsnek Germany) There's not a minute of each day that he and all of our soilders are on my mind and in my prayers. My heart stops every time I hear of US casulties, then my heart breaks for the families. Sometimes I don't know how I make it through the day and yet at the same time I feel humbled because all I am doing is worring and not in the heat of battle like our troops are. I pray that all our soilders return home safe and I also pray that my son will be able to handle everything he has had to do and see there when he returns home. God Bless our Soilders and keep the Safe. If you would like to email me my address is; sctlnds4me2@insightbb.com

Hey,
just can tell u what I heard about from my husband: it's a small camp, but equiped with an internet cafe tho. Most of the rooms got an internet line itself, so bring a laptop with a network card with u. The internet in the rooms gotta be purchased by the soldiers themselves. It's a private Iraqi network company, that operates it.
Gabe got no PX, so all stuff u need u gotta get at camp Warhorse, an about 5 minutes ride from there, same town tho. Some people will be there often, cause most equipement is stored in warhorse, also mail and food is delivered from Warhorse. Bring much entertainment with u, like xbox, videogames, laptop. Gabe seems not to have an entertainment center.
So anyways, can't tell u much about it, just what my husband told me so far. I'll go ask him again, as soon as I get the chance to talk to him again.
Do u already know when u gonna be there?
Sincerely

I was stationed at Camp Gabe for over a year--I was in the company that established Gabe. "Gabe" is short for Gabrielson, one of our platoon sergeants. He was killed in action, July 9, 2003.
While not a pleasant place, it's more secure than Camp Warhorse. I was there.

I know that he is in the army reserves but i am not sure were. He left in January 2005. I don't know much of anything about his position so it is hard to find anything out about his situation. He sends letters but he acts as if hes more worried about my well being then his own. which i suppose is typicle he is a father but things are not exactly peachy keen between us i want to clear my conciense and his. I don't want anything to happen to him, I am always praying for him but i need more than my words to god for this kind of satisfaction.
Kristen,
This war in Iraq has definitely made an impact on the lives of those who either served in Iraq or are family of those that served. I know this because it worked miracles on my relationship with my husband. You say that you are not close with your dad because of his time spent away, but I urge you to tell him everything that's on your mind when you write to him or talk to him. Pray for his safety as well as the other troops there and when he gets home, make it a point to begin a closer relationship with your father. He needs your support when he's home as much as he does when he's away.
I will keep you and your father in my prayers.

Has anyone heard anything from 2-34AR? I haven't heard from my boyfriend in over a week which is unusual since at the very least I would have recieved an email. They are deployed with they guys from 3rd Brigade from Ft. Benning. I know they had reached FOB Gabe and were in the process of relieving another battalion. I understand that this is a huge process and that they are extreamly busy. I just worry because I care about my soldier over there as I know we ALL do. It's just a difficult situation for me because I am not in a situation where I know other military wives or girlfriends from his unit that I can talk to and vent with.
I pray for ALL the soldiers over there daily for a quick and safe return. I am extreamly proud of them all.
God Bless

Hi, my names Krystal...My boyfriend Spc. Metz, Joseph. Got deployed to Iraq the middle of January. He's been gone a month tomorrow. I haven't talked to him in about a week, maybe a little bit longer. I know hes okay I just also can't help but to think somethings wrong. I know hes busy and all. And I don't expect him to write me everyday, but I still can't help but to have that thought in the back of my mind. This is the first time Ive ever had to deal with anything like this. Iam in college right now so its not as bad. I graduate in December and hopefully he'll be back shortly after. He was told a year...maybe a little bit longer. I miss him so much and its nice to have someone to talk to about it who is int he same boat as me. And I don't have that. So Iam hoping I might meet someone on here that I can talk to...that'd be great. He's stationed here at Ft.Benning Ga. I don't remeber what part of Iraq hes going to, I know hes in southern Iraq...which I hear its one of hte safer places to be over there....so if thats true...thats a good thing. But okay you guys...my email address is TattooedQueen05 at aol.com. So if any of the people that wrote on here that would also like some support or just someone to talk to...feel free to email me.

My finace is in the group of guys they sent to Ramadi. He was in Baquba up until 04 July. We have FRG meetings...its pretty much a support group, & they update us on our guys. My guy is A Co. 2-69 AR. But all companies have FRG meetings. You just need to contact your FRG leader, see when the next meeting is, and meet some new people. Not to much longer, & our guys will be home with us. And we'll be in their arms where we belong! :)

My name is Sgt. Hubert Raulston and I served at Camp Warhorse. The 4th ID and the 223rd Engineers took the Air Base the last of April 2003.The camp is pretty safe, the only thing that you get there is mortor attack. We found that the markets that were setup outside the wire we were buying items from them and they would in return buy mortors to shoot at us at night. So as engineers we took dozers and cleared the markets from around the camp.If you need more information feel free to e-mail me autoorange22@yahoo.com.

Don't think it's the right place to talk about, cause everybody can read it. U should try to get a hold on a 1-6 FA or 82nd engineer soldier downrange or their rear detachement. They r stationed in Warner Barracks Bamberg, Germany. Camp Warhorse is mostely from Schweinfurt I think, but dunno for sure.

Hopefully he'll learn. About a week or 2 ago he im'ed me and told me that he really hoped to see me soon, even though he knows that I have a new b/f. john IM'ed me sister and asked her what he could do to make things better b/c he messes things up REAL BAD. He told me he was gonna call, but hasn't.. not really a big loss except for the fact that I wanted to tell him how I felt then I could feel like it was FINALLY OVER W/ HIM... I have started to move on... and I hope that ALL of you have too. Soon he will realize what he has done and all the great girls that he lost. One time he told me that he really did love all of us at one time... hmmm... was it all the same time.
Courtney: He told me that there was nothing between the two of u ne more and that he hasn't talked to you in 4 yrs. and that he lost touch w/ u once he went into the service.. to think... is calling u really loosing touch?? He always told me that he wanted to be w/ me.. HeLL I'd f*** a MArine too! That's right about the zex party..to think I was gonna wait until I married him... hmm........ was I stupid of WHAT?!?!?!! U GO MOM!!!! (Whose ever mom that was)... to think that I let my whole family meet him and I thought that I was gonna marry this man..LOL! I just sit back and wonder what will happen next.. will we find out that he likes men? Please GOD no....
Glad that I can not worry about having to crawl back to him and wonder what he will do next to crawl back to me )or so try)..I have a REAL man now.. do i need him.. NO! Hell I'd do a Marine too! Some sex REALLY is better than NO sex
I had no idea John was doing his to people. I went to his junior prom with him. He has called me a few times at aschool and has emialed me. And yes he played the whole when you finish school i want to build a life with you thing. But i had just brushed it off as the war talking. I didn't know he had goten himself into this mess. I also knew John Hart and his whole family. I am also a best friend of Travis Desiato and his wife Tracy. My only hope is that John comes home soon alive and well.
Wow all you girls should know what I know! I am a mom of one of the girls John is "in love" with! Ha! He's got all you poor innocent girls going, doesn't he? I just got a call from him on Friday the 21st of Jan. He told me he LOVES my daughter and that he wants to take care of her forever! Wow, are you all going to fall for this guy!? My daughter is just plain pissed! I am glad she will stay far from him! You know it's sad because I took him as such a sweet guy and encouraged my daughter to go out with him! She kept telling me no! Well, I feel bad he lost his best friend and that he has to see some of the things he does but that gives him no right to hurt all of you. My email is RhondiVoo@aol.com

Hi my name is courtney, I am sure alot of yall know me...
I have had the same problem with john! I am also Army but knew him in high school. Today he just called me from Iraq and tried to sweettalk me. Well, little did he know I had just talked to two of his other victims, Lauren C. and, of course, Alex G. B/c both were/are my old high school buddies who I like to talk to every once and a while. Well, lets just say he got a piece of my mind, and let me make sure you all know that I have never had a problem finding a guy because there are so many out there that aren't complete sleezebags. And, as a matter of fact, I ummmm "scammed" on John more than once and I am VERY happy I did! Good sex is better than no sex, drive one soldier!
My email is courtney.n.leavitt@us.army.mil if anyone wants to drop a line!(aim: cutecommando) You all are awesome!
Hey everyone, I was told the smae s*** i am surprised... but hey, he might have thought he had a gf here but I have been "cheatin" on his ass anyways! With Marines!!!! LOL. Wow, even the guys that act nice are sleezebags... so use their asses!
John Hart was my boyfriend yes, until he passed away. I never liked Sauce more than a friend, we have been nothing but good friends for a while now. I could never date one of my boyfriends best friends. Not only is it wrong, I would not be able to bring myself to.
In John's profile he states:
More About Me
Hobbies: anything out doors, walks on the beach, walks hand and hand with julie the women of my life, cuddleing.
And his info says:
Real Name: John
Nickname: sauce
Location: iraq at the time
Age: 21
Marital Status: Long-term Relationship
Gender: Male
Occupation: Army
Does anyone know who Julie is? What about Alex???
(i mean she didn't want him, but didn't he give her a ring?)
DAMN....i is so confused.

Hello all, my name is Lauren and I am from MA, I am very good friends with Sauce, I went to school with him. He just came back on R&R two weeks ago and I spent a lot of time hanging out with him. I've known Sauce for a long time and we've been through a lot together including the death of his best friend, and my boyfriend PFC John Hart. Through everything though, we have remained friends and kept in touch. Sauce has always been this really sweet and compassionate guy. Right after he came back from Iraq, he came to visit me in school and was I THRILLED! He was safe and home and I was very happy. Little did I know, he was planning to get engaged to someone while he was back. It wasn't until Sauce found out I had a boyfriend that he started to act different and hang out with someone else. That someone was Alex G. a past girlfriend of his who he apparently still had deep, feelings for...or does he? Sauce had promised to take me out before he left, he did and we had a great time except his phone kept ringing, and he kept getting up in secret to talk to someone who I later found out was Alex. She stopped by at my house and started yelling at Sauce, for a reason I did not know. To sum it up, he asked Alex marry him, yes MARRY him and she said...maybe, but eventually yes. I was shocked and absolutely blown away by this. More so because I found out online, about Suzy, and Renee and anyone else who has been led on to believe that Sauce was the one for them. Also the possiblity of knowing he almost asked me! This upsets me deeply and if anyone wishes to talk let me know. I have much more to talk about, but I have written enough already. My sn is Lbad05jh and my email is lbad05jh@hotmail.com please feel free to talk to me about anything.
Well girls,
I heard from the infamous "John Saucier" and he told me that he loved me and la-de-da-de-da.. he is supposed to be coming to visit me when he goes on R&R.... I hope he does, but yet I hope he doesn't. I miss him and I love him SO much, but yet how could he do this. This REALLY sucks. Why do men have to be so stupid? Did he think that he wouldn't be found out?? hm.... deep down inside I'm crying because it all hurts so much, but yet laughing hysterically because I was so stupid to fall for someone with such a player mentality. I dedicated my life to him for well over a year, and this is what I get in return. Will I ever love again, how can I ever trust someone else?
Btw, my name is actually Lauren...anyway. Ya, that is definitely the same John I'm thinking about. I used to live in MA before my dad retired from the Air Force, John lived down the street from me. I can't believe this, how long had you been going out? He'd told me several times that he liked me, and I have some other stories...my sn is LivinForHim13 I'm not mad at him, just shocked, I'd like to talk with you!
his middle name is andrew. he is from mass. and renee is from maine. hope that clears that up for you laura. welcome to the i date john saucier group. well me and him just broke it off yesterday. i dont want to be with a cheater.
do you have yahoo laura? look me up on there and i can send you pics of him. i take it your john is also amry. well message me on yahoo and I will send you some pics and we can compare. lovezen (yahoo)
Sounds like an interesting situation! Do you know the middle name of the John you're talking about? Or any unique but well known quality about him? I just want to verify it isn't the same John I know.
I know a John Saucier who is in Iraq, but looking up some stuff on line I noticed there is more than one John Saucier. Is the John you're talking about in the marines or army?
i am on the computer most of the day if I am home. i am on after midnight alot and before 3pm alot. if I am off then the computer stays on. and dont worry john is alive and well. last time we talked was just on oct 31st. seen him on cam. he is perfectly fine. we really need to talk one on one. i hope you get online soon there is alot I can tell you.
Just a little bit of a player... yeah I am just a little curious. The last time that I heard from him was in April, we had a fight b/c I had found out from a valuable source that he was cheating on me before, and we haven't talked since then, but we never broke it off, although at the time I may have wanted to because I was so mad. But he never wrote me back, or called, or did anything to verify with me or even prove that he wasn't cheating, so in my book we are still together. I write to him every now and then, but I understand that he doesn't always have means to a computer or way to get ahold of me, so I haven't heard from him. I have been worried though b/c not hearing from him kind of made me wonder if something had happened to him or something like that. When was the last time that you heard from him? Also when are you usually on the computer, so that I can try to be on at the same time so that we can talk.. and if you don't believe that we are together I have pics to prove it, (not that I don't think that you don't believe me, but some people would be like, "That b***h is lying and I am the only person that he is with", but I do believe you...Also if you don't mind me asking where are you from?
Renee
I have you on my aol I will message you when you come on. when was the last time you talked to john? well I have alot of questions as you probably do too. messages me asap
hey suzy,
yeah we really do need to talk.. i would love to compare some notes. It hurts that someone would do something like this to me, especially him, or even that this would happen to anyone else for that fact.
Renee
Hey Suzy,
This is Renee, and I too am dating Pfc John Saucier. Haven't really heard from him since April, but have been REALLY worried about him. If you would like to get ahold of me my sn is MystcStr7

I am not sure what infantry he is in and he does not tell me much of how things are over there. I want some news!!! He writes me letters but he acts more worried about my well being then his own i may have a broken heart but that will not kill me. the position he is in thats another story. I am hopeing that there is someone out there knows Spec. D. Licon with the 82nd En Bn stationed at camp GABE. If there is can you tell him that you found a note under a rose bush for him from Lynette that read, he was very loved and missed and thought of every second of every day. (He will understand about the rose bush part;o)) It would brighten his day!
Thanks in advance,

This is a message just from an unknown soldier. I'm giving you fair warning that any information that you post about your brother on any site/blog or anything may place him in danger. As this is something that I googled randomly, this popped up. If this popped up for me over a google search, then who else do you think can get the same information...
There used to be a saying "Loose Lips Sink Ships " well, the same goes for this time period too. If you wish to help out your family to bring them home safely, then a good suggestion on where to start is to not post any kind of blogs about where they are, or what they're doing...
Thank you for your time.
